-
Location:Thessaloniki Concert Hall

Date:18 July 2024

Time:9:00 pm
Soprano Sonia Theodoridou and the Plaza Ensemble quartet present a musical dialogue between Argentine tangos and Portuguese fados: from the intense rhythm, expressive dance, and passion of Argentina, to the lyricism and emotionally charged melodies of Portugal’s folk or art poetry.
The concert features songs and instrumental pieces from classical and primarily nuevo tango, composed by iconic Argentine composers Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla, as well as songs performed and communicated to Portuguese and international audiences by the “priestess” of fado, Amália Rodrigues. Additionally, the program includes songs with references to tango or inspired by tango, by composers from the classical or popular music genres.
