This year (2023) Luxembourg and Greece celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, as well as the 30^th anniversary of the opening of the Luxembourg Embassy in Greece.

The relations between Luxembourg and Greece are excellent. They are based on common values and cooperation in many areas (political, economic, tourism, cultural). For a presentation of Luxembourg, see: LuXembourg - Our Common Ground | National Day 2023 VO ST ENGL - YouTube

On the occasion of this double anniversary, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Greece has invited Luxembourg and Greek artists to collaborate and perform, together, songs of the great Mikis Theordorakis. The Greek composer was greatly appreciated in Luxembourg, especially thanks to Luxembourgish professor and writer Guy Wagner who in the 1970s fell in love with the music of Mikis Theodorakis and invited him to perform in Luxembourg. They became friends and Guy Wagner wrote the first biography in German language of the composer. In November 2005, Mikis Theodorachis was presented with the medal of The Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

A concert will take place on 12 September at the Benaki Museum Piraeus at 19h30.
